Our greatest asset is forage in Central Kentucky. Limestone based soil along with an average of 50 inches of rainfall annually makes our Bluegrass region the pinnacle of pasture based livestock production. That is clearly evident by the world class thoroughbred horse farms in this area today.
Captain Isaac Cunningham came to this area in 1802 from Virginia and was among the first to cultivate bluegrass as a crop in Kentucky. A few years later his son-in-law and business partner Isaac VanMeter arrived and solidified the family business by importing, breeding, and raising cattle and thoroughbred horses. Now, more than 220 years and 8 generations later we are blessed to be raising livestock and the 9th generation on the same ground. There was purpose in deciding to settle in this special region and that has not been lost through the generations. As the 8th generation we work hard to stay on the leading edge and cement ourselves as passionate stewards of God's creation. We hope that our hard work is a "tip of the hat" to our ancestor's vision and a steppingstone for the next generation.
